School of Built and Natural Environment

The School of Built and Natural Environment at UCLAN maintains an appropriate and distinct range of research activity with a major feature being partnerships with industry, commerce and other academic institutions in the UK and overseas. The school has a dynamic and diverse research community, spanning the School’s areas of specialism in environment, design and construction, Public Private Partnerships  in different sectors including transport. The research activities carried out by the research community cover process, technical, technology, performance, economic, legal and environmental in relation to many sectors in the construction industry. Research in innovation and performance is at the heart of this research within the School and across the University. UCLAN has been rated Top Modern University in the North West of the UK for the 6th year running by the ‘Good University Guide’ due to its encouragement and engagement with research relating creativity and entrepreneurial thinking and innovation.

UCLAN will jointly lead the WP4 facilitating much needed links between the EU and the identified Asian region. UCLAN has experience in EU based research including PPPs in EU Transport: Trends and Theory. This will be an added advantage to this project as it will explore Smart, green and integrated transport as possible societal challenges in the identified Asian Countries.
